Anna Maxwell Martin is an English actress.
Biography
Born in Beverley, Yorkshire, she studied at the London Academy of Dramatic Arts and appeared in the Donmar Warehouse's production of The Little Foxes in her final year. She soon gained recognition for her role as Lyra in the stage production of His Dark Materials and Esther Summerson in Bleak House.
Best known for her television roles (winning a second BAFTA for her role in Poppy Shakespeare), she almost made a number of film appearances, including Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa and Philomena.
Singing
Maxwell Martin played the leading role of Sally Bowles in the 2006 revival of Cabaret and appeared on the official soundtrack.
