Chris Sarandon is an American actor.

Biography[]

Born in Beckley, West Virginia, Sarandon studied at the Catholic University of America and began working in regional theatre, before making a move into television, and gaining an Academy Award Nomination for his performance in Dog Day Afternoon.

Sarandon became best known for his roles as film villains, in The Sentinel, and The Princess Bride, and later as the voice of Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas. He would go on to balance work on television such as ER, and returning to theatre with Cyrano de Bergerac.

Singing[]

Sarandon only sang professionally once onscreen, as the voice of Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas: Oogie's Revenge, the video game sequel to the original film, in which he only provided the character's speaking voice.

On stage, he also appeared in two musicals, in the original cast of Nick & Nora, and later as Signor Naccarelli in The Light in the Piazza.
