Christian Slater is an American actor.

BiographyEdit

Born in New York City, Slater began his acting career with the soap opera Ryan's People before a number of roles on Broadway, both in musical theatre and traditional roles such as Macbeth and The Glass Menagerie. In 1985 he made his screen debut and the following year made his breakthrough in The Name of the Rose. This was followed soon after by cult classic Heathers.

Despite a number of well publicised brushes with the law, Slater became increasingly successful, with roles in Interview With a Vampire and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. In the late Nineties he appeared less frequently, however and became more popular as a voice actor, both in film and television.

SingingEdit

Slater's career began on Broadway where he appeared in several musicals, starting as Winthrop Paroo in the 1980 revival of The Music Man as well as playing Billy Mowcher in Copperfield, during which time he also undercovered the role of Young David. In 1983 he originated the roles of Arthur and Young Merlin in Merlin.

Slater did not continue to sing during his film career, though he did perform "Hitler Rap" during the alternate history comedy Churchill: The Hollywood Years.
