Christopher Benjamin is an English actor.

Biography[]

Born in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, Benjamin became best known as a television actor, appearing in such classic series as The Prisoner, The Avengers and Doctor Who as well as playing Prosper Profound in The Forsythe Saga.

As well as television, Benjamin also appeared in films (Brief Encounter, Ring of Encounter), on-stage (once playing Falstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor) and provided the voice of Rowf in Plague Dogs.

Singing[]

As well as starring in the original production of Nashville New York, Benjamin appeared as Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street when the West End production moved to repertory, and appeared in two musical concerts, playing General Adam Snookfield in Let 'Em Eat Cake and H.C. Curry in 110 in the Shade.
