Clive Russell is an English born Scottish actor.
Biography[]
Born in Reeth, North Yorkshire, he notably appeared onstage in the play Accidental Death of an Anarchist and reprised his role for the film production. He appeared in a number of miniseries, including Oliver Twist and The Railway Children. He then appeared in a number of major films including Oscar and Lucinda, King Arthur and Sherlock Holmes.
However Russell became best known as a television character actor; taking roles in such series as Spaced, Happiness and Ripper Street, where he played Inspector Abberline. He also appeared as the builder Phil Nail in Coronation Street.

Russell sang onscreen in two roles, as Neil Currie in Margaret's Museum and Adam Penruddocke in Ladies in Lavender.
