Colin Baker is an English actor.

Born in Waterloo, London, Baker studied at the London Academy of Dramatic Arts and developed an early career on television, appearing in such shows as War and Peace, Blake's 7 and The Brothers. He then went on to play a guest role in Doctor Who, leading to his succeeding Peter Davison as The Doctor.

Though the program underwent a hiatus during Baker's tenure, he later became the most popular Doctor on radio. He subsequently appeared in a number of stage productions, including Death and the Maiden and She Stoops to Conquer.

Baker sang on a number of occasions connected with his role as the Sixth Doctor, namely the charity single Doctor in Distress and the musical episode of the radio series entitled Doctor Who and the Pirates.

He also appeared in several stage musicals, namely as drag queen Terri Dennis in Privates on Parade and Sir Joseph Porter in the classic operetta H.M.S. Pinafore.
