Tom Hanks is an American actor.
Biography[]
Born in Concord, California, Hanks made his film debut in 1980's He Knows You're Not Alone during which time he was also cast as the lead in a production of The Mandrake. Roles in comedies soon folliwed, including Splash and Big before winning two consecutive Academy Awards for his roles in Philadelphia and Forrest Gump.
Hanks became known for his versatility, appearing in numerous films both comic (The Ladykillers, The Terminal) and serious (Apollo 13, Cast Away, Captain Phillips), as well as notably acting as the voice of Sheriff Woody Pride in the Toy Story series. Hanks also worked behind the scenes as a producer on such projects as My Big Fat Greek Wedding and Where the Wild Things Are.

Hanks sang several times mostly in comic roles, such as his rap duet "City of Crime" in the film Dragnet and "Please Don't Cut My Testicles" during an appearance on Saturday Night Live.
He also sang more touching songs such as "You've Got a Friend in Me" in Toy Story 2 and "A Man Has Dreams" in Saving Mr. Banks.
