Hilton McRae is a Scottish actor.

Biography

Born in Dundee, he was a member of both 7:84 and the Royal Shakespeare Company and gave critically acclaimed performances in The Execution of Gary Glitter and The Kreutzer Sonata. He also appeared in such films as Return of the Jedi, The French Lieutenant's Woman and Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan.

McRae was the second actor to perform the role of The Engineer in Miss Saigon and appeared as Thénardier in Les Misérables before originating the part of Sam Carmichael in Mamma Mia!. He also played Mr. Stopnick in Caroline, or Change and The Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz.
