Jude Law is an English actor.

Biography[]

Born David Jude Law in Lewisham, London, he worked with the National Youth Music Theatre and gained Oliver and Tony Award nominations for his role in Les Parents terribles (later Indiscretions) before gaining wider recognition for his screen roles in Wilde and The Talented Mr. Ripley. He also gained an Academy Award Nomination for his role in Cold Mountain.

Law would later appear in two roles played in their original films by Michael Caine, in remakes of Sleuth and Alfie respectively, before appearing as Dr. Watson in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes films. He made a return to stage in 2010, playing the lead in an award-winning production of Hamlet.

Singing[]

Aside from his time at the National Youth Music Theatre, Law has sang on four occasions,most notably performing "Tuo Va Faire L'Americano" in The Talented Mr. Ripley. He also sang the song "Jude", a mockingly self congratulatory monologue, on Saturday Night Live.
