Paul Whitehouse is a Welsh actor and comedian.

Biography[]

Born in Stanleytown, Rhondda, Whitehouse discovered a talent for mimicry from a young age, and also made friends with Charlie Higson, who would become one of his most frequent collaborators. They helped to create Harry Enfield's popular characters Stavros and Loadsamoney, later launching their own sketch shows, while Whitehouse and Enfield became known for Ruddy Hell, It's Harry and Paul.

Whitehouse also made several film appearances, in the Harry Potter series, as the March Hare in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and in the historical comedy The Death of Stalin.

Singing[]

Whitehouse sang in two productions, as the opening credits singer Kenny Valentine in The Fast Show throughout the first series, as well as music hall comedian Arthur Atkinson and performing folk classics as Jed Thomas , a man with violent Tourettes syndrome, and as the absent-minded but good hearted fish merchant William Van Dort in Corpse Bride. On stage, he helped to create Only Fools and Horses the Musical, where he originated the role of Granddad.
