Keenan Wynn was an American actor.

Biography[]

Born Francis Wynn in New York City to comedian Ed Wynn, he was encouraged by his father to become an actor, and the two later appeared together in the television production Requiem for a Heavyweight. Wynn became an MGM contract player and made a number of memorable film appearances, including Annie, Get Your Gun, Sergio Leone's Once Upon a Time in the West, and Dr. Strangelove, as the suspicious Major "Bat" Guano.

In his later career, Wynn appeared several times on television including in Dallas, and also provided voices for several Rankin/Bass productions such as The Last Unicorn, where he played the self-promoting outlaw Captain Cully.

Wynn passed away in 1986.

Singing[]

Wynn had a handful of opportunities to demonstrate his vocal abilities,notably in Kiss Me, Kate, where performed the duet "Brush Up Your Shakespeare". He also appeared in the film version of Finian's Rainbow, and provided the voice of the Winter Warlock in the childrens film Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town.
