Goldie Hawn is an American actress.

BiographyEdit

Born in Washington D.C., Hawn was a ballet dancer from the age of three and made her stage debut in 1961, portraying Juliet. She would come to prominence on television in the comedy series Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In and later received an Academy Award for her appearance in Cactus Flower.

Whilst she would appear in contrasting works as comedies There's a Girl in My Soup and dramas such as The Girl from Petrovka, Hawn next received an Academy Award nomination for her titular lead in Private Benjamin. She would occasionally take breaks from acting for personal reasons, but returned in a number of successful comedies including Housesitter and The First Wives Club.

SingingEdit

A singer onscreen as well as being the creator of several albums, Hawn first performed "Star!" on The Dean Martin Show and "Please Don't Touch Me Plums" in The Duchess and the Dirtwater Fox. In 1972, she released her debut album, entitled Goldie.

Hawn would later appear in the comedy film The First Wives Club and sang several times on the soundtrack, as well as performing a version of "I'm Thru With Love" in the musical Everyone Says I Love You.
