Jason Isaacs is an English actor.


Born in Liverpool, England, Isaacs was a frequent performer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before going on to study at the Central School of Speech and Drama. He made his film debut in 1989's The Tall Guy and appeared in such television series as Taggart and Inspector Morse before his first major Hollywood role as Colonel Tavington in Rob Roy.

Although Isaacs would often be cast in villainous roles such as Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter and Captain James Hook in Peter Pan, he also appeared in a several critically acclaimed stage production of The Dumb Waiter in 2007 and the television adaptation of Case Histories in 2011, wherein hr portrayed Jackson Brodie.


Isaacs made his sole singing appearance in Peter Pan, in which he played the devilish Captain Hook.
