Jessica Hynes is an English actress.

Biography[]

Born Talullah Jessica Stevenson in Lewisham, London, she was a member of the National Youth Theatre and debuted as Mrs. Blitzein in the revival of Blitz!, before making her first steps into television comedy with a number of sketch shows, before co-writing and starring in the cult success Spaced with Simon Pegg.

While Pegg went into Hollywood, Stevenson, now married and calling herself Jessica Hynes, remained in television series such as Doctor Who, the comedy Twenty-Twelve and its sequel W1A for which she earned a BAFTA. Offscreen, Hynes returned to stand-up comedy as well as stage acting, earning a Tony Award nomination for her role in The Norman Conquests.

Singing[]

Other than her stage debut, Hynes sang in two professional roles, in the stage pantomime Dick Whittington where she played the Good Fairy, and the comedy Confetti, in which her character decided to enter a wedding competition with a musical theme. She also released a charity single duet "Laughing in Rhythm" in 2012.
