John Cusack is an American actor.


Born in Evanston, Illinois to the American Cusack acting family, he made his first appearances in teen comedies such as Sixteen Candles, Better Off Dead and Stand by Me before establishing his own production company and gaining success with Grosse Pointe Blank and High Fidelity.

Though Cusack became best known for his comic roles, he also made appearances in more serious fare including Cradle Will Rock, The Butler (as Richard Nixon) and in the dark satire Maps to the Stars.


Cusack had his sole singing role in 1988's Tapeheads, in which he performed "Now That You're Gone."
