Judith Anderson was an Australian actress.
Born Frances Anderson in Adelaide, Australia, she began acting in Australia (debuting in A Royal Divorce) before moving to New York and appearing with a number of stock companies before establishing herself as a major Broadway tragedienne, appearing in As You Desire Me, Medea (for which she won a Tony Award), Mourning Becomes Electra and Hamlet, in which she played Gertrude.
Anderson appeared in a number of screen roles, notably an Academy Award nomination for her part as Mrs Danvers in Rebecca, as well as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.
Anderson passed away in 1992.
Anderson only performed in one film, Forty Little Mothers, singing "Little Curly Hair in a High Chair" with a number of other characters.
