Julia Sutton is an English actress.

Biography

An English actress, Sutton maintained a consistently successful career in musical theatre, originating a great number of roles. She also made appearances in films such as Half a Sixpence and Pickwick.

Singing

Best known for her work in musicals, Sutton made her musical debut in the fringe production of The Matchgirls in the role of Polly, which she continued to play after the show's West End transfer. In 1981 she would originate the role Pamela Mitford in The Mitford Girls, and later Barnett in Peg and Mrs. Hudson in Sherlock Holmes: The Musical.

In later years, Sutton played the role of the Bird Woman in the stage production of Mary Poppins, and played the role of Sister Mary Lazarus in Sister Act.
