Julian Orchard was an English actor.

BiographyEdit

Born in Wheatley, Oxfordshire, Orchard studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He initially appeared on television in a number of dramatic roles including Jacques in A Tale of Two Cities, before gaining a name as a comic actor, notably in The World of Beachcomber.

Orchard also made several film appearances, including two Carry On films and 1978's Revenge of the Pink Panther, and made a noted stage appearance in a 1974 production of The Tempest. He passed away in 1979.

Orchard had a number of comical musical roles, appearing in the revue Penny Plain, originating the role of Snodgrass in Pickwick (which he reprised for the television film) and the foppish Montague in The Slipper and the Rose: The Story of Cinderella.
