Karen Dotrice is a Guernsey born British actress.


Born in Guernsey to actor Roy Dotrice, she made her film debut in The Three Lives of Thomasina in 1963 before her most famous role as Jane Banks in Disney's Mary Poppins.

Dotrice appeared in the 1978 adaptation of The Thirty Nine Steps as an adult actress, appeared on television in Upstairs, Downstairs and onstage as Desdemona in Othello, before retiring from acting to focus on her family.


Dotrice sang a number of songs in her most famous role in Mary Poppins, most prominently "The Perfect Nanny". She also sang along to the title song in The Gnome-Mobile.
