Laura Linney is an American actress.

Biography[]

Born in Manhattan, New York, Linney studied acting at Juilliard and began screen acting in the 1990s, appearing in the television miniseries Tales of the City and films such as Congo and The Truman Show before she received an Academy Award nomination for her role in You Can Count on Me.

Linney also received plaudits for television roles (earning Emmys for Wild Iris, Frasier and The Big C) and theatre, receiving a Tony Award nomination for Time Stands Still. However she remained best known for her work in film, gaining further nominations for Kinsey and The Savages.

Singing[]

Linney performed the duet "What About Love?" in The Big C and sang "Please Can I Take It?" on the album Philadelphia Chickens.
