Marion Bell was an American actress.

Biography[]

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, she studied opera in Rome and performed with the San Francisco Opera Company. She made her screen debut as an extra in A Night at the Opera. She appeared in several stage musicals, and spent several years as a singing teacher from 1990.

Bell passed away in 1997.

Singing[]

Bell sang from a young age as an opera singer, but made her first adult appearance as Violetta in the film Ziegfeld Follies. Soon after she originated the role of Fiona MacLaren in Brigadoon and later Jennie Parsons in Down in the Valley. She also played Maeve Harrigan in Three Wishes for Jamie, having left the musical before its Broadway launch only to return later as a replacement.
