Natalie Portman is an Israeli born American actress.

BiographyEdit

Born Neta-Lee Hershlag in Jerusalem, Israel, Portman and her family moved to America when she was young, and whilst only thirteen, made an impressive film debut as Matilda in Léon. This resulted in a number of major film appearances, including Anywhere But Here (for which she received a Golden Globe nomination) and the Star Wars trilogy, where she played Padmé.

Portman continued to play a balance of major blockbusters and smaller independent films, from V for Vendetta to the psychological drama The Black Swan, which led to an Academy Award for Best Actress.

SingingEdit

Portman only sang on a handful of occasions, generally in her early roles, (though she served as an understudy in the Broadway musical Ruthless!) including a number of songs as part of an impressions game she plays with Léon, and a rendition of "I'm Thru With Love" in Everyone Says I Love You. .
