Nicole Kidman is an American-born Australian actress.

BiographyEdit

Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Kidman studied at the Victorian College of the Arts and Australian Theatre for Young People before making her screen debut in Bush Christmas, aged sixteen. She gained recognition in her native Australia with Dead Calm and in wider circles as Dr. Chase Meridian in Batman Forever, To Die For and Eyes Wide Shut.

In 2001, Kidman received an Academy Award nomination for her role in Moulin Rouge! and a victory after playing Virginia Woolf in The Hours. She would appear in a large variety of films including the action adventure The Golden Compass, epic Australia and the award-winning The Paperboy.

SingingEdit

Kidman sang a number of times in her career, notably in the musical movie Moulin Rouge!, in which she sang (amongst others) the award winning "Come What May." She also performed the duet "Kiss" in Happy Feet and released the album "Something Stupid" with Robbie Williams.

After a long break, Kidman made a return to movie musicals in the star-studded Nine (in which she played Claudia Nardi), singing the number "Unusual Way."
