Renée Zellweger is an American actress.

Born in Katy, Texas, Zellweger studied at the University of Texas and began acting in commercials before making appearances in arthouse and indie films. Her first mainstream role came in 1994 but it was her appearance in Jerry Maguire that gained international recognition, followed by an acclaimed performance as the titular character in the Bridget Jones series.

After gaining two Academy Award nominations in a row, Zellweger appeared in a variety of films ranging from Cinderella Man and Miss Potter to animated fares such as Shark Tale and Bee Movie.

Though she sang for comic effect in the Bridget Jones series, Zellweger had her first major singing role as Roxie Hart in Chicago and also performed "Here's to Love" in Down with Love.
