Richard Epcar is an American actor and director.


Born in Denver, Colorado, Epcar began as a voice actor and a voice director in the 1960s, before making his name as the English voice in various dubbed anime projects, including Robotech and Digimon: Digital Monsters, where he played the arch-villain Myotismon.

Epcar also provided voices for live-action television such as Masked Rider and video games including the Kingdom Hearts series, where he took over from Billy Zane as the voice of Ansem/Xehanort.


Epcar performed in the English dub of Digimon: Digital Monsters, where, as the Elvis-inspired villain Etemon, he sang the song "The Hippest Digimon in Town".
