Rudy Bond was an American actor.

Biography[]

Born Rudolph Bond in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he joined amateur theatre group the Neighbourhood Players and served in the Second World War before being shipped home due to a chest injury. Bond became a member of the Actor's Studio and soon appeared as Steve Hubbell in both the screen and stage versions of A Streetcar Named Desire, as well as such plays as Golden Boy, Romeo and Juliet and After the Fall.

Bond also made a number of screen appearances, including On the Waterfront (as Moose), 12 Angry Men, The Godfather and The Taking of Pelham 123, where he played Phil the police commissioner.

Bond passed away in 1982.

Bond appeared in the musical Fiorello! as Ben Marino; as well originating the role of Captain in Illya Darling.
