Sacha Baron Cohen is an English actor and comedian.

BiographyEdit

Born in Hammersmith, London, Baron Cohen studied at Cambridge and attended the University Amateur Dramatic Club, where he appeared in such shows as Fiddler on the Roof. He initially worked as a model and youth television presenter before making his first film appearance in 1990 and began performing in the role of "Ali G" in 1998.

As well as Ali G, Baron Cohen created a number of comic characters who would have their own films in later years; Borat, Brüno and Admiral General Alahadeen, who he would appear as whilst conducting interviews under the pretence that they were real people. Cohen also made a number of regular film appearances, in the Madagascar film series (as the voice King Julien XIII) and in Hugo, where he played Inspector Gustav.

SingingEdit

Baron Cohen has sung professionally a number of times, often under the credit of one of his comic creations. As part of a tie-in to Ali G Indahouse, he released the single Me Julie from the film's soundtrack. He also sang songs in character as Borat in Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, Brüno and The Dictator (as Admiral General Alahadeen).

Cohen also sang in two movie musicals, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (performing the solo "The Contest") and Les Misérables as the devious Thénardier.
