Sondra Lee is an American actress and dancer.


Born in Newark, New Jersey, Lee began her career as ballet dancer and despite being considered too short for Allegro, managed to secure a role as a dancer in High Button Shoes. This led to a successful career as both a dancer and supporting artist in several musicals, including Carousel and Fifty Million Frenchmen.

In addition to her stage work, Lee also made appearances in several films including La Dolce Vita and Pinocchio, in which she played Geppetto's Cat. Additionally, she would go on to become a director and dancing teacher.


Lee made her singing debut in the original cast of Peter Pan as Tiger Lily, and would reprise the role for the filmed production. She also played the role of Gisella in Reuben, Reuben, Mae Jones in Street Scene and Moe in the television film Hansel and Gretel.

Lee also originated the role of Minnie Fay in the Broadway musical Hello, Dolly!.
