Sterling Holloway was an American actor.

Born in Cedartown, Georgia, he studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and soon became a travelling stock player, before making his film debut in 1926. His appearance and vocal talents led to him frequently being cast in comedies, as well as five westerns with Gene Autry.

In 1941, Holloway began a lengthy collaboration with Disney, which resulted in him playing his most notable role, that of Winnie the Pooh. He was also a common choice for voiceovers and audiobooks, as well as appearing in dozens of television shows, with guest spots in The Untouchables and The Twilight Zone among others.

Holloway passed away in 1992.

Holloway sang a number of times onscreen and during his animated performances, the first time singing "A Perfect Day" in Remember the Night. He frequently sang in his roles for Disney productions, beginning with wishing a newborn Dumbo a "Happy Birthday" in Dumbo, and reciting "Twas Brillig" in Alice in Wonderland.

Holloway also sang a number of songs as Winnie the Pooh, and the hypnotic piece "Trust in Me" as the snake Kaa in The Jungle Book. He had previously introduced the well known pieces "Manhattan" and "Mountain Greenery", but no recordings exist.
