Susan Hampshire is an English actress.

Biography[]

Born in Kensington, London, she made her film debut aged ten years old, taking a sojourn before returning to acting a decade later an appearing in such films as During One Night, The Lives of Thomasina and The Prince of Donegal. She also frequently appeared on television series including The Forsyte Saga, The Time Tunnel and The First Churchills.

Hampshire also appeared on stage numerous times, appearing in The Bargain, in pantomime as the Fairy Godmother and in The Circle in both 1976 and 2008.

Singing[]

Hampshire originated the roles of Cynthia and Victoria Gilchrist in Expresso Bongo and Follow That Girl respectively, as well as singing in the films The Three Lives of Thomasina, Wonderful Life and as Isobel in the musical film Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. She also appeared as the Countess Charlotte Malcolm in A Little Night Music.
