Sylvester Stallone is an American actor.

Born in New York City, Stallone made his first film appearance in Downhill Racer in 1969. Whilst he had small appearances in films such as Bananas and The Prisoner of Second Avenue and the television series Kojak and Police Story, Stallone gained great early fame for penning and starring in the Rocky films, gaining Academy Award nominations for acting and screenwriting.

Stallone soon went on to appear in successful films such as Escape to Victory, First Blood (the first in the Rambo film series) before making appearances in lighter roles such as The Toymaker in Spy Kids, The Expendables (which he also directed) and as the voice of Victor Von Ion in Ratchet and Clank.

Stallone sang in several of his early films, including in Paradise Alley, and notably in Rhinestone, where he sang the solo "Drinkenstein" and several duets. He also sang "Let's Call the Whole Thing Off" and "Bird in a Gilded Cage" during his guest appearance on The Muppet Show.
