Willem Dafoe is an American actor.

Born in Appleton, Wisconsin, Dafoe studied Drama and was a member of a number of experimental theatre groups, notably the Wooster Group. In the 1980s he received his film debut in Heaven's Gate, though this was cut, and made his first great impact as Sergeant Elias Grodin in Platoon.

Dafoe continued to have a popular career in motion pictures, frequently being cast as villainous or morally ambiguous roles, receiving an Academy Award nomination for his role as Max Schreck in Shadow of the Vampire. His distinctive voice also caused him to receive a number of voice roles, including the fish Gill in Pixar's Finding Nemo.

Dafoe has briefly sang in a handful of films, in his early starring role in Warehouse 66, as the conflicted villain Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin in Spider-Man, and singing "Star of Mine" in Go Go Tales.
