William Daniels is an American actor.

BiographyEdit

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Daniels was part of a variety act with several other members of his family and made his television debut in 1943. He first appeared on Broadway in Life With Father, and would gain plaudits for his stage roles, receiving an Obie Award for The Zoo Story in 1960.

Daniels also had a prestigious screen career, appearing in The Graduate, Grey's Anatomy and several times playing the role of John Quincy Adams. He also gained recognition for his voiceover part as the car K.I.T.T. in Knight Rider, and at one time served on the Screen Actors Guild's Board of Directors.

SingingEdit

Daniels starred in several major musicals, beginning with the original run of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. One of his best known roles was that of John Adams in 1776, a role which he reprised for the film adaptation. He also took over the part of Fredrik Egerman in A Little Night Music.
